KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — The NFL released their fine list for Week 5, and there was one Kansas City Chief who found their name on there.

Defensive tackle was fined $11,817 for an unnecessary roughness penalty during the Chiefs Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints.

The incident occurred in the 4th quarter when Wharton smacked the facemask of Saints offensive lineman Lucas Patrick.

Wharton has had a solid start to the season and is currently second on the team in sacks with 1.5.

He is currently in his fifth season with the team after re-signing this offseason on a one-year deal worth $2.75 Million

The Chiefs are on a bye week as they enjoy their 5-0 start to the season. They will be back on the field in Week 7 in a Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers.
