BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 14 – A local man who was involved in an accident with a lorry died while standing next to his vehicle while stopped on the shoulder of the highway in the Telisai area towards Kuala Belait at 38.2km.
Sungai Liang Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) confirmed that a road accident had occurred this morning.
According to PPDB, the Sungai Liang Police Station received the emergency call via emergency line 993 at around 10:30 am regarding a fatal accident.
As soon as the information was received, the police rushed to the scene and as a result of the preliminary investigation found that the incident involved an accident between a sedan belonging to the victim and a lorry.
The paramedic on duty who attended the examination also confirmed that the driver who was hit died at the scene.
However, the police are still investigating to find out the exact cause of the accident and death.
Therefore, the public and eyewitnesses who have witnessed the incident are requested to come to any police station or call the police emergency number 993 to assist in the investigation.
On this occasion, PPDB would like to advise road users to always be careful and alert while driving and to always focus on safety aspects while on the road.
