BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 15 – A 28-year-old Bruneian was fined $5,000 for possessing two types of vape pods without a valid permit or permission by Magistrate Hajah Normazdina binti Haji Mohd Maskub yesterday.
Abdul Mustaqim bin Mohd Addey will have to serve five months in prison if he fails to pay the fine.
According to the customs prosecutor, the incident occurred on December 30, 2023, when Abdul Mustaqim was arrested in a joint operation led by the Royal Brunei Police Force during a roadblock at the Kampung Bukit Beruang National Housing Plan Highway Bridge in Tutong District. Officers from the Enforcement Unit of the Royal Customs and Excise Department seized the vape pod.
The court ordered that the vape pod be destroyed.
