BRASILIA, OCT 16 – Brazil eased fears about their qualification chances after a comfortable 4-0 win over Peru.
Two penalties from Barcelona winger Raphinha put the five-time World Cup winners on course for the trophy with the first coming in the 38th minute when Carlos Zambrano was brought down and the second in the 54th minute after Savinho was brought down with the same defense.
But more performances were to be enjoyed when the third goal came in the 71st minute, with Andreas Pereira producing a superb scissor volley from Luiz Henrique’s cross from the right.
Luiz Henrique completed Brazil’s victory with a brilliant left-footed strike from outside the penalty area to make it 4-0 and put Brazil in fourth place. – AFP
