BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, OCT 16 – Two individuals were fined a compound fine of $100 each from the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) for littering in the public parking lot at Pasar Malam Gadong yesterday.
Two individuals identified as Haji Iring bin Mundim and Ali Akbar have been fined under Chapter 12(1) of the Miscellaneous Offenses (Amendment) Act 2021.
They were given a period of seven days to clear the fine and failure to do so will cause the case to be taken to court.
If found guilty in court, a fine of $1,000 to $3,000 will be issued for the first offense. While subsequent offenses can be fined between $3,000 to $9,000 or jail up to six months, or both.
