KUALA BELAIT, OCT 16 – In a continuous effort to promote global peace, the Belait Lions Club organized their annual International Peace Poster Drawing Competition at Chung Hua High School (CHMS), Kuala Belait, last October 6.
A total of 26 students from schools throughout Belait District participated in the competition with the theme of Unlimited Peace. The students drew and created their interpretation of peace in three hours during the competition.
The posters produced were judged by a panel of judges consisting of members of the Belait Lions Club, led by the chairman of the organizer for this year’s contest, Lion Alvin Cheong.
The results were announced at the end of the competition, with Dayang Nur Syifa Aqilah Kee binti Azlan taking first place with a colorful painting that expressed the theme of the competition. Meanwhile, Dayang Nur Adriana binti Abdullah won second place and third place was won by Yap Yin Ting.
Meanwhile, five consolation prizes were also given to Dayang Nur Elmira Saffiya binti Mohammed Eddy Saifulrizal and Dayang Ummi Khairiah binti Mohammed Faris from St James School, Chen Pei Er and Amanda Lau Eng Wui from Chung Hua School, as well as Nur Alisya Zara binti Muhammad Hafiz from Chung Ching School, for their creativity that captivated the panel of judges.
