Charity moving out of troubled Towne West Mall

Charity moving out of troubled Towne West Mall

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A charity organization focused on helping military veterans in the community has announced they are moving.

Passageways had been operating their Outreach Center out of Towne West Mall. The charity has had to close its doors multiple times because the mall’s power has been turned off multiple times due to delinquent bills. Though the bills are eventually paid, some businesses and other organizations in the mall have been forced to close until it is restored.

Passageways’ mission is to provide housing and support services for military veterans. The organization says KanVets United can now move out of the mall and into its own space.

The Outreach Center will be moving to 1202 W. Douglas, the former location of one of the DAV Thrift Stores that closed in 2020. The organization says it needs boxes to help move and volunteers to help pack.
