Lorain County woman among 6 arrested after large fight at Cedar Point

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Six people, including a 41-year-old Elyria woman, were arrested Sunday after a fight involving as many as 15 people broke out near a roller coaster at Cedar Point, police say.

A police report shows officers responded to the incident near the Gemini roller coaster just after 7 p.m. Sunday. A juvenile bumped into a stroller being pulled by a 47-year-old male from Jackson, Mich. The juvenile and adult began arguing, with the adult telling police that the juvenile threatened to beat him up.

The adult tells police he eventually grabbed the juvenile and shoved him over a fence. Several other people then intervened and began hitting the adult, the report shows.

The melee broke up and police say the adult male and family members with him began to walk away. The adult male tells police that a juvenile followed them and insulted a 51-year-old woman with him. The report says the juvenile slapped the woman and also her 26-year-old daughter.

Police arrived moments later. The report accuses the Elyria woman of trying to prevent officers from talking with juveniles involved in the incident. Police say in the report that the woman, who had a “strong odor of intoxicants,” was warned multiple times not to interfere before being arrested on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct.

Overall, four adults and two juveniles were arrested. All were escorted out of the park and released, the report says. There were no reports of injuries.
