Edmonton weather: Intense winds, then slightly less intense winds

Article content

A look at Thursday’s Edmonton weather from Environment Canada.

It’s 4 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 11 km/h winds out of the north.

I must admit that I’m a little surprised at how dry the forecast is, not just for the weekend but for the next seven days. We’re past the midway mark of October, and we usually get some downpour or initial flurry of snow by now! Instead, the next few days are beset by seriously blustery winds.

Thursday will have clear skies but also brings intense winds, climbing to 60 km/h by noon, with a high of 10 C. The winds will persist overnight at 40 km/h as clouds begin to roll in. Those clouds will linger on Friday, where the winds will calm somewhat, blowing at 20 km/h with a high of 11 C.
