After weeks of ducking, dodging and weaving, JD Vance finally admitted at an Oct. 16 event that he does not believe that Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election (”Vance says Trump did not lose in 2020,” Oct. 17). This is despite the fact that there is zero evidence — none! — to support this allegation. When someone continues to repeat an allegation without any evidence to support it, we justifiably call it a lie. Vance is lying — parroting and repeating Donald Trump’s lies. This shows he has absolutely no moral integrity.
This election is no longer about differences in policy, important as those differences may be. This election is about the future of our country. This election is about whether our country will continue to be a democracy. How can we trust two people so utterly disconnected to reality as Trump and Vance are to protect our freedoms and safeguard our democracy?
For the sake of our children and our future, I urge Ohio voters to join me in voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and in voting to return Sherrod Brown to the U.S. Senate, to give us at least a fighting chance to preserve our democracy.
