Mycontent Distribution won two awards

KUCHING, 18 OCT – MyContent Distribution Sdn Bhd won two awards at the Digital Economy Awards 2024 in conjunction with the International Digital Economy Conference (IDECS) 2024 in Sarawak yesterday.

The local production company received the Sarawak Premier Award and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Award presented by the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) in a statement informed that MyContent Distribution is a 100 percent Sarawak-owned company that was established in 2020 and has positioned itself as a pioneer in the Malaysian entertainment industry by embracing digital transformation.

According to SMA, as a production company active in the field of film production and distribution as well as television (TV) programs, MyContent Distribution has distributed more than 100 local films on international platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Prime Video and VIU.

“Among the company’s great achievements include the launch of the first Sarawak dialect TV series, Tilit-tilit Cinta on Netflix and the first Iban film The Headhunter on Amazon Prime. The award-winning film Tegkang, which is the latest production, shows MyContent Distribution’s commitment to present Sarawak’s stories at the global level,” according to the statement.

In addition to MyContent Distribution, also receiving recognition was Universiti Malaysia Sarawak which won the Research and Development Award while Evolving Brilliance Technologies Sdn Bhd received the Technology Startup Award.

The Digital Government Award was won by the Sarawak Public Service Digitization Unit while the Sarawak Forest Department was awarded the Sustainability Award.

IDECS 2024 is an event jointly organized by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) and Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS), with the support of the Sarawak State Government. – Named
