BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 18 OCT – The Interior Decoration Project of Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque (SSBRPAD), Kampung Manggis/Madang has been completed with the launch ceremony taking place in the mosque’s prayer hall.
Present as the guest of honor is the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Director Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
Also present were the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) and the Second Minister of Defence, the Honorable Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
In his opening speech, the Honorable Minister of Religious Affairs shared that the initiative was launched by the takmir committee through collecting funds from the residents of Kampung Manggis and Madang and the corporate sector clearly reflects the unity and solidarity of the community in the village who want to implement a welfare project of this kind without depends entirely on the cost of the government.
“This entrepreneurial attitude is something that in my opinion needs to be nurtured and emulated as a best practice by other mosques in this country even on a small scale,” explained the Honorable Minister of Religious Affairs.
Earlier, the ceremony began with the recitation of the Al-Quran by Awang Abdul Qawiyyel Azeez bin Haji Abdul Rajid, while the interpretation of the verses was delivered by Awang Ruzaini bin Haji Mohd Rozey.
The ceremony continued with a welcome speech by the SSBRPAD Mosque Improvement Committee Advisor, Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Said bin Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Haji Hashim, as the chairman of the project committee.
The project includes works to decorate the four inner walls of the mosque and the outer part of the main entrance of the mosque with selected verses of the Quran, Asmaul Husna and zikir-zikir.
The work of installing the panels of Al-Quran verses, Asmaul Husna and dhikr in the SSBRPAD Mosque has started on September 6 and will be completed on October 10.
