Singer from Singapore, Asya B expressed her surprise when her expression of wanting to expand her artistic career in Malaysia did not receive a positive response from the country’s community.
Asya or Nurasya Abdul Rahim, 34, however, is open to the criticism because she considers it a challenge that must be overcome as an artist.
“Some asked if I can’t find food in Singapore until I want to come to Malaysia? To be honest, I did not expect to receive such criticism but I accepted it with an open heart.
“After all, I am aware that I am in a people’s country… So it is necessary to maintain morals and respect the people in Malaysia,” he said mStar.
In the meantime, Asya told that although the beginning in the field of music is quite slow, she has a lot of experience as a singer. In fact Asya once worked in a club in Singapore as a singer.
“I actually started singing since school by joining the choir team. From there I learned about breathing techniques and singing. In fact, I once joined an orchestra and after finishing school I worked part-time as a singer in a night club or pub,” he said.
Meanwhile, Asya expressed her excitement at being able to collaborate with singer and composer Zul 2 by 2 through a single love you.
Asya explained, the song in question was her own composition when she was 16 years old and Zul beautified the arrangement before it was released as an official single.
“Originally I entered Zul’s TikTok live and from there we got to know each other… When Zul asked if I had my own song, that’s when I submitted love you to him. Early response, he said the song I made was good. but Zul beautified the original composition and I fell in love with my own song,” he said.
