Cleveland Heights’ Marquise Davis is reminding Ohio why he was the uncrowned Mr. Football

EUCLID, Ohio — For much of the first half of the high school football season, Marquise Davis spent his time punting.

Cleveland Heights coach Mac Stephens took a cautious approach with his senior running back, the reigning cleveland.com Player of the Year, Kentucky commit and 2023 Ohio Mr. Football finalist. The Tigers lost two of their first three games. Davis played some safety and outside linebacker, but he could not plant his foot and take off with the force that led to 2,228 yards and 35 touchdowns a year ago.
