CLEVELAND, Ohio — Deshaun Watson was carted off the field late in the second quarter on Sunday vs. the Bengals with what the Browns called a right Achilles injury. The injury happened on a quarterback draw and was a non-contact injury.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson came in, and Nick Chubb scored a one-yard touchdown run on a fourth down to get the Browns on the board. But Thompson-Robinson largely struggled, completing 11 of 24 passes for 84 yards and two interceptions. Thompson-Robinson left the game late in the fourth quarter and Jameis Winston came in to finish the game, and he threw a touchdown pass in the Browns’ 21-14 loss.
Thompson-Robinson was listed as the No. 2 quarterback on Sunday ahead of Winston, who was signed to be Watson’s backup this offseason and was designated as their emergency third quarterback.
If Watson is indeed out for the rest of the season, who should be the starter at quarterback for Week 8 vs. the Ravens?
