Walmart offering 'inflation-free' meal deal for the holidays. Here's what it includes

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Walmart says it is bringing back its “inflation-free” holiday meal deal.

The retail giant recently announced in a news release that the meal deal will be available through Dec. 24 and serves eight people.

Walmart said the meal is at a “lower price than last year” and costs about $7 per person.

“Some of the holiday’s most special moments take place around the dinner table. At Walmart, we are committed to offering customers even deeper savings on top of our Every Day Low Prices for all their mealtime needs,” John Laney, executive vice president of food at Walmart U.S., said in the release. “And with more opportunities to gift a meal and give back to those in need, we’re helping customers spread holiday cheer to their loved ones and their local communities.”

Here’s what is included in the deal:

  • Whole Frozen Turkey 10 – 16 lb. ($0.88/lb.)
  • Great Value Sweet Hawaiian Rolls (1 unit – 12oz)
  • Great Value Golden Sweet Whole Kernel Corn (3 units – 15oz)
  • Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce (1 unit – 14oz)
  • Great Value Canned Green Beans (2 units – 14.5oz)
  • French’s Crispy Fried Onions (1 unit – 6oz)
  • Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup (2 units – 10.5oz)
  • Great Value Brown Gravy Mix (2 units – 0.87oz)
  • Marie Callender’s Southern Pecan Pie (1 unit – 32oz)
  • Great Value Frozen Whipped Topping (1 unit – 8oz)
  • Great Value Frozen Deep Dish Pie Crusts (1 unit – 16oz)
  • Great Value 100% Pure Pumpkin (1 unit – 15oz)
  • Great Value Evaporated Milk (1 unit – 12 fl oz)

Other retail and grocery chains have announced special meal deals for the holiday season.

Sam’s Club is also offering a deal for Thanksgiving. CEO Chris Nicholas told FOX Business that the chain is offering a full Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people for under $100.

Nicholas said the deal includes turkey, trimmings and dessert.

Aldi recently announced its lowest-priced Thanksgiving deal in five years, according to CBS News. Its “inflation-busting holiday meal” serves 10 people for $47.

The spread includes a Butterball turkey with spices, gravy, rolls, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.
