CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio —

Theft, Market Place Drive:

A Chagrin Falls man, 43 is charged with three incidents of theft after being caught with an unpaid $250.98 R2D2 Lego set on Sept. 26 at Target. He paid for snacks and beverages in his shopping cart but not the Lego set. While being detained he said he needed to go to his car to get his wallet and ID. Instead of returning to the store he drove home leaving behind the merchandise he paid for. Police investigated and found video surveillance footage showing he took but did not pay for another Lego set valued at $109.99 on Sept. 14 and two beverages valued at $4.78 on Sept. 25. On Sept. 30 police tracked him down at his home and charged him with the three thefts.

Theft, Market Place Drive:

A Bainbridge Township woman, 41 is charged with placing items in her purse and also failing to scan other items at the self-check-out counter 7 pm. Sept. 25 while shopping in Target. The value of the items is $225.99.

Theft, Market Place Drive:

Police arrived to a 7 p.m. Oct. 3 call from Target to find a suspect loading merchandise into her car. She showed the officer her sales receipt, which did not include a $579.99 electric scooter and 62 other items valued at $1,300.31 she had concealed in reusable shopping bags that she is also accused of stealing. Video footage shows the woman entering the store empty-handed and leaving with the bags and merchandise. The 51-year-old Twinsburg woman did pay for some items at the self-check-out and told a store employee that she had already purchased the other merchandise. Police charged her with felony theft and was transported her to the Geauga County jail.

Injury crash, Chillicothe Road:

An Auburn Township girl, 17 suffered a bloody nose after crashing her car into a car stopped to make a left turn 11:30 a.m. Oct. 5 onto Bainbrook Drive. Bainbridge Township EMS treated her at the scene and released her to her mother. The other driver, an Aurora woman, 46 reported no injuries. Police cited the girl for not keeping an assured clear distance from other vehicles.
