Creating another history in his artistic career, singer Khai Bahar represented Malaysia at the prestigious event 13th ABU TV Song Festival 2024 which took place at Luthfi Kirdar International Exhibition, Istanbul, Turkiye last Sunday.
Despite facing health problems with his vocals, Khai or Muhammad Khairul Baharuddin, 30, expressed his gratitude when he managed to do the performance well.
“Thank God for the very valuable opportunity to be chosen to represent Malaysia. Although the health of my voice is not optimal, I am very grateful that everything went smoothly and was resolved well,” he said mStar.
Through the event, Khai performed his song entitled Shadow live at Anadolu Auditorium.
It is understood that Khai’s selection was made by Hiburan TV RTM as the representative body for ABU.
In the meantime, Khai described the experience of singing on stage with artists from 11 other countries as a meaningful memory.
“A new experience and sweet memories when being on the same stage as 11 countries in total. Thank you RTM for the trust given,” he said.
The ABU TV Song Festival was organized in 2012 and is a non-competitive showcase of performances from the Asia-Pacific region.
Each participating broadcaster has to choose an artist from their respective country, to present their work in the event.
In addition to Malaysia, 10 countries are also involved in the organization this time, namely China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, South Korea, Turkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. – Agency
