The closing ceremony celebrated 358 prospective IBTE graduates

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 23 OCT – A total of 358 potential graduates of Brunei Institute of Technical Education (IBTE) consisting of 151 male students and 207 female students were celebrated in the Khatam Ceremony and Thanksgiving Prayer, which took place at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Manggis Madang Village, today.

Present as the guest of honor at the event was the Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad,

The closing ceremony began with the public recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyah led by Awang Kaseh Ikhwan Afif Jazimin bin Mohammad Rosdi, HNTec student from IBTE Mechanical Campus and followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honor of the ceremony.

Then the ceremony continued with the reading of surah khatam by the participants led by Awang Muhammad Sakhawi bin Saiful and Awang Mohd Hanif Hamizan bin Haji Zakaria, prospective graduates from IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus.

Next, the recitation of the Al-Quran Prayer Khatam was read by Awang Ahmad Izzat Mu’inuddin bin Haji Masli, a future graduate from IBTE Business Campus and then followed by the recitation of Takhtim by female students from IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.

The ceremony was also graced with the tune of Dikir Marhaban led by Awang Shaifulbahri bin Haji Ahmad and ended with the recitation of a Prayer of Gratitude led by Awang Mohammad Akmal Hakim bin Mohamad Alihan, a student from IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus.

Also present at the event were the Principal of the Satellite Campus, Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Wahab, IBTE management officers as well as special guests consisting of IBTE officers, teaching staff and staff as well as parents and guardians of future graduates.

This Khatam Al-Quran event is one of the annual events held in conjunction with the IBTE convocation ceremony which aims to inspire students to love the Al-Quran and cultivate the practice of reading the Al-Quran in their daily lives.
