World Food Program warns: Gaza crisis may turn into “famine”

A global observatory warned this month that the entire Palestinian enclave is still at risk of famine because Israeli military operations exacerbate fears and hinder the arrival of humanitarian aid.

The World Food Program added in a statement: “As the situation continues to deteriorate in northern… Gaza“The likelihood of a larger group being affected by famine will certainly increase unless conditions on the ground improve.”

The program said that it has about 94 thousand tons of food ready in… Egypt Jordan has enough food to feed a million people for 4 months, but it cannot bring it into Gaza because the open entry points are very few and others are not safe enough.

The World Food Program said that “the restrictions imposed on humanitarian aid coming into Gaza are severe,” and that only 5,000 tons entered the Strip this month.

He added that approval of trucks and truck drivers and delays at checkpoints are among other constraints that need to be addressed to improve the flow of aid to the sector.
