Under the guidance of head coach Tyronn Lue, the Clippers churned out a 51-31 season, culminating with the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Los Angeles bowed out of the first-round courtesy of Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

Superstar James Harden will shoulder the load on opening as Paul George has moved on to Philadelphia and Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out to begin the season. The injuries continue to plague Leonard, who also dropped out of Team USA basketball shortly before exhibition games began this past summer.

Harden averaged 21.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists while shooting 44.9% from the field. He also shot 38% from beyond the arc and tallied 23 double-doubles on the season.

The addition of Derrick Jones Jr. (9.1 points, 3.5 rebounds) from the Dallas Mavericks remains an unknown. Jones had some major impact in the Western Conference Finals against the Timberwolves and the previous series against the Denver Nuggets in the semifinals.

Shooting guard Terance Mann is also expected to grab a larger role. He averaged 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 41.3% from the field.

The Suns are entering their first year under head coach Mike Budenholzer. After going 49-33 last season, Phoenix bowed out via a first-round sweep by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Big Three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal return to resume a potent display of talent that has yet to reach the depths of the postseason.

Durant averaged 26.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 55.2% from the field. He had two games with 30 or more points in last year’s quick playoff run.

Booker averaged 27.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 49.2% from the field. He nabbed 30 points or more 25 times last season.

Beal rounded out the trio with 16.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists while firing at a 44.1% clip from the field.

The addition of point guard Tyus Jones provides a nice punch after he averaged 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists while shooting 48.9% from the field last season with the Washington Wizards.

Grayson Allen looks to build off his 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists from last year.

Phoenix was in the middle of the pack in both pace (15th) and defensive efficiency (14th). Despite a slew of stars, they appear to be stuck in playoff purgatory.
