Terrorists attack Turkiye defense industry company

ANKARA, OCT 24 – Two terrorists who attacked the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facility in the capital Ankara were killed, while five people were killed and 22 others were injured, Anadolu Agency quoted Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya as saying.

“Unfortunately, we lost five lives, the total number of injured victims reached 22 people,” he told reporters.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the terrorist attack, saying: “I condemn this despicable attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries facility.”

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz also condemned the attack, stating, “This heinous act targets Turkiye’s success in the defense industry.”

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also condemned the attack, stressing that Turkiye will continue to fight “against all terrorist elements, at home and abroad, as well as the forces that support them.”

“In the future, we will continue to strengthen our country’s defense capabilities and will never allow them to target Turkiye, together with their proxies to achieve their goals against our country,” said Fidan through X.

Defense Minister, Yasar Guler voiced Ankara’s determination in the fight against terrorism.

“We will not stop until the last terrorist is defeated, and we will respond to this act accordingly. Everyone will witness this,” Guler told reporters.

Yerlikaya urged the public to rely on statements from official sources for the latest developments.

The country’s Justice Minister also condemned the attack, stating: “An investigation has been initiated by the Ankara Chief Prosecutor’s Office into this treacherous attack, with a chief prosecutor and eight prosecutors assigned to the case.”

Explosions and gunfire were heard at the Turkish Aerospace Industries facility in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara yesterday.

According to reports, the defense company’s personnel were ordered to take cover for security purposes.

Security forces, the fire department, as well as the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) were also sent to the scene. – Named
