TERENGGANU, OCT 24 – A woman who took care of her husband who was bedridden for six years following a car accident has announced that he divorced her and married another woman after his recent recovery.
Nurul Syazwani has been documenting her daily life as her husband’s carer on social media for years, showing off her busy routine which includes tube feeding, changing nappies and helping to bathe him.
According to reports Oddity Centralher husband was injured in a car accident and took six years to walk again. Her dedication and devotion to her husband attracted 32,000 followers on Facebook alone, many of whom were shocked to learn that Nurul Syazwani’s husband had not only divorced her after her recovery but had also married another woman.
Many found out about the development after Nurul congratulated her ex-husband and her new bride in a Facebook post.
“Congratulations to my husband, I hope you are happy with the one you chose. Aifa Aizam, please take good care of him like I did. I’m done with him, now it’s your turn to take over,” wrote Nurul in a message that has now been deleted.
The news of Nurul’s divorce on October 4 shocked many Malaysian social media users, with many refusing to believe that someone could return the favor by leaving her.
Some followers who have been following Nurul and her husband’s journey on Facebook expressed their disappointment at the shocking decision from her husband.
“At that time, I was very scared every time he coughed,” said Nurul Syazwani when recalling her time as a caretaker. “I do rehabilitation activities for him every day and my family comes to help every day so I can rest. I also often bought necessities for my children and husband alone, which at the time made me feel very stressed.”
However, Nurul also insisted that she felt like her ex-husband ‘has fulfilled his responsibilities well’ and asked people to stop harassing him and his new wife, adding that they had agreed to work together to raise their daughter.
However, his followers disagreed.
“I don’t agree that he has fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband,” commented one of his followers.
“How can such ungrateful people exist? It seems he has no heart,” among other comments.
In order to avoid her ex-husband and new wife from public criticism, Nurul Syazwani deleted her original Facebook post and apologized to the newlyweds because a lot of attention was focused on them. She also asked her followers to stop blaming her ex-husband for what happened.
“I would like to apologize to my ex-husband, his new wife and their families regarding the spread of my post on Facebook. Everything that happened was my mistake,” wrote Nurul. “Everyone is wondering on Facebook. So my post on Facebook this time is not intended to expose shame or sarcasm but to avoid defamation,” he explained. – Agency
