CANBERRA, 24 OCT – Three teenagers have been charged in connection with a stabbing incident at a shopping center in South Australia (SA).

Today, the SA Police confirmed that three teenage boys, aged 17, 16 and 14 respectively, have been arrested and charged for the attack that took place at the shopping center yesterday.

Police were deployed to a shopping center in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, the capital of SA, at about 2:30 pm yesterday after receiving reports of a fight among teenagers in the food court.

An 18-year-old male teenager was stabbed in the stomach and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment due to serious injuries. According to local newspaper reports The Advertiserthe victim was stabbed at least three times but was in a stable condition in hospital last night after undergoing emergency surgery.

The SA Police in a statement today informed that the three suspects were found in a nearby area and arrested.

They were all denied bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court today. Criminal responsibility in SA begins at the age of 10.

The SA Youth Court can impose a maximum custodial sentence of three years for offenders under the age of 18 who are found guilty.

SA Police are also examining CCTV footage to identify other individuals involved in the incident. – Xinhua
