CLEVELAND, Ohio — A jacket shouldn’t be necessary for trick-or-treaters in Northeast Ohio, but an umbrella might not be a bad idea.
That’s the indication from the National Weather Service’s forecast for Halloween, which is next Thursday. The unseasonably warm weather is going to continue … the predicted high for Halloween is 72 degrees. It’s also expected to be partly sunny during the day.
But the NWS currently is predicting a 50% chance of showers. Accuweather’s current forecast calls for a 35% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon with winds around 13 mph. Weather.com says there is a 50% chance of showers during the evening and that temperatures will dip to about 60 degrees after a high of 75.
That’s more than a week away, though, and it’s not uncommon for forecasts to change during that time. Trick-or-treating takes place in Cleveland from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Some communities are having trick-or-treating on different days. In Akron, it will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, while Kent will have it from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
It will be a cooler event on Saturday in the Akron area … the NWS forecast is mostly sunny during the day with a high around 59, but temperatures will drop as evening approaches, eventually hitting a low of 36. In Kent, Sunday will be sunny with a high of 58.
