BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 25 OCT – In conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Kampong Manggis Madang, members of the Masjid Improvement Committee held a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony at the mosque this morning.
Present as the guest of honor at the ceremony was the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Second Minister of Defense, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honor followed by the recitation of juzuk 30 together with 79 reciters and 79 reciters consisting of students studying in the mosque as well as the congregation of the mosque.
The ceremony continued with the recitation of Taktim led by Hajah Samainah binti Haji Osman, Dikir Marhaban led by Haji Kadir bin Kurus and the recitation of Doa Khatam by Haji Md Noor bin Haji Ibrahim.
While the Prayer for the Protection of the Sultan was recited by the Imam of the mosque, Awang Muhammad Khaizuran Amali bin Haji Kamsani.
Also present at the ceremony were permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments and senior officers under the Prime Minister’s Department and the Ministry of Defence; permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary and senior officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs; officers and staff of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah as well as advisors and members of Takmir Masjid Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit.
