It shines brightly, the sun illuminates the Hauts de Creil this Friday, October 25. She was there too. “We felt its presence, it shone today,” observes Sabrina, staring at the sky. Many anonymous people paid tribute to Shaïna Hansye, at the place where the 15-year-old girl had been murdered. Five years ago to the day, Shaina was stabbed and burned alive by her boyfriend, sentenced in June 2023 to 18 years of criminal imprisonment.
The silent crowd gathered in the garden since transformed into a place of meditation for his family. Around the stele mentioning the memory of the city’s child, everyone sees the photos of the teenager and her angelic face. She would have been 20 this year.
In 2019, Creil was plunged into torpor. Images flood into our memories: the shed on fire, the discovery of the young girl’s charred remains… “The fire was replaced by flowers,” said Parveen Hansye, Shaïna’s mother. Despite the pain and tears, she courageously spoke up to talk about her sun which has gone. “It’s still difficult today for us. We miss Shaïna’s presence. She was our little princess. She was our doll. Our joy of living. She was taken away from us like that. »
“She has entered the hearts of many French people”
A little earlier this Friday, a plaque in tribute to Shaïna was also unveiled at the Women’s Crossroadsa place of listening and support for women from the 11 towns of the Creil metropolitan area opened on October 16. “It means a lot. It is not necessary that she falls into oblivionconfided Yasin Hansye, Shaïna’s brother. Today, women who walk through the door will look at the plaque and say to themselves that she did not die for nothing. »
The echo of Shaïna’s feminicide resonated in Creil and throughout France. “Never again,” we then repeated in unison. “I receive a lot of messages from young girls and women who tell me that the affair had an impact on them and that they became truly aware of what they suffered and dared to file a complaint. For me it’s huge, continued Yasin Hansye. In 2017, she had a reputation created while she suffered a rape. Today, she has entered the hearts of many French people. Reputation will never win against justice. »
