COLUMBUS, Ohio — Bryce Harper, a star first baseman from the Philadelphia Phillies, will be a special guest on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff prior to Ohio State football vs. Nebraska on Saturday.
It’ll mark his second appearance in as many years. Last season, he was a featured guest before Ohio State’s win vs. Minnesota.
While on the show, he explained his OSU fandom. Harper’s wife, Kayla, played soccer for the Buckeyes (2013-14).
“She’s the real Buckeye,” Harper said. “I’m just kind of honorary.”
Harper is a native of Las Vegas who played a year of baseball at the junior college level.
After spending the 2010 season at College of Southern Nevada, Harper was taken first overall by the Washington Nationals in that year’s MLB Draft.
While he’s in Columbus, a teammate of his will be on ESPN’s College GameDay in Bloomington, Indiana.
Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber is the celebrity guest picker before Indiana, his alma mater, hosts Washington.
