Padua vs. Walsh Jesuit football: Warriors get first perfect regular season since 1998

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Walsh Jesuit swept away Padua, 42-0, in Cuyahoga Falls Friday night.

Winning is nothing new to the Warriors as they are now 10-0, completing their first perfect season since 1998.

The Warriors are on a 13-game regular season winning streak dating back to last season. They already clinched the top seed in Division II, Region 5 of the OHSAA playoffs, and are ranked No. 3 in this week’s cleveland.com Top 25. Padua is 5-5 and has clinched a playoff spot in Division III, Region 10.

The Bruins won their game last Friday against Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, 38-21. This Friday was a different story.

It was a big night for Warriors star Keller Moton. Just 1:07 into the game, Moton scored a touchdown from 4 yards out with another to follow from 11 yards. He then went on to score his third touchdown, putting 21 points on the scoreboard before the end of first quarter.

The Warriors scored once in the second quarter on Vinnie Cortard’s rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 35-0 before the half.

Lucas Weaver wrapped it up after another touchdown for the Warriors in the fourth quarter.
