A second man has been charged with second-degree murder in the May stabbing death of a 34-year-old man in Edmonton’s Kingsway neighbourhood.

On May 15 at around 1:39 a.m., city police officers were called to the area of 102 Street and Kingsway Avenue after reports of an injured man on the sidewalk. Emergency paramedics treated the man and took him to hospital, where he later died.

Police identified the victim as Clinton Quintal, 34. An autopsy determined he died of multiple stab wounds and his death was deemed a homicide.

Three days later, police identified Irvin Badarm, 31, as a suspect, who was also wanted for a robbery at the Kingsway transit station about an hour before the attack, and charged him with robbery and second-degree murder. Police said Quintal and Badarm did not know each other.

At the time, police believed there were more suspects involved in the attack and robbery.

On Thursday, Adam Chinery, 35, was arrested by police and charged with second-degree murder, police said in a Friday news release.

Investigators determined Chinery did not take part in the robbery. Police said they are no longer seeking further suspects.
