Storm Track 3 Forecast: Turning warmer Sunday, strong winds arrive Monday

Pleasant, mild conditions across Kansas today, and we will settle in for another chilly night across Kansas.

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Turning warmer Sunday, strong winds arrive Monday

Most places will stay above freezing, but you will need to grab a jacket if you plan to hit the town for any Saturday night plans!

Sunday turns temperatures a few degrees warmer, but still pleasant with highs mainly in the 70s. Winds will be a bit breezy out of the south.

Winds will be the headline for Monday and Tuesday. A belt of strong winds will develop over Kansas, paricularly in central Kansas. Gusts to 50 mph will be possible in addition to near-record warmth. Fire danger will also be a concern.

A cold front approaches on Wednesday, and this brings the first chance of moisture to Kansas. Showers and storms develop along the front especially in the eastern half of Kansas on Wednesday.

The front will not be the last rain maker, as several strong storm systems are aimed at the southern plains toward the first week of November. After a break on Halloween, moisture surges back in and brings the possibility of widespread soaking rains by next weekend!
