BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 10 – A deep interest in the field of nutrition and food science prompted Dayang Hajah Wafiqah binti Haji Daim to continue her doctoral studies in the field at the University of Queensland, Australia.

Dayang Hajah Wafiqah, a recipient of the Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Scholars Scheme scholarship, feels the golden opportunity given to her to continue her studies abroad as a trust from all parties who believe in her to make new history and contribute positively to the development of the field of nutrition and food science.

In an interview with Media Permata, here, Dayang Hajah Wafiqah shared that her deep interest in acquiring knowledge became a stimulus for her to excel in her field of study so that she had the opportunity to continue her doctoral studies in her field of interest. He stated that the opportunity and trust given to him will not be wasted and feels committed to generate a positive impact in the field of food competition when he returns later.

Dayang Hajah Wafiqah also sees the opportunity given through the scholarship as a way to inspire and educate future generations, especially in the profession as a lecturer upon graduation.

He believes that a lecturer’s job is not only to deliver interesting lectures but also to develop various educational opportunities and establish valuable collaborations with universities and industry.

He also expressed his desire to lead impactful research projects that will address global challenges in the food industry, contribute to a sustainable future and support UTB’s growth and success.

Dayang Hajah Wafiqah stated that her success was due to the blessings and prayers of her parents, family and husband who always gave her encouragement, support and confidence to bravely face the challenges present and achieve her dream of continuing her studies and becoming a lecturer when she returns later.

Commenting on his advice to those who wish to continue their studies, he said they should always stick to their interests and always remember the things that pushed them through the journey.

“Focus on your goals, accept all challenges and see all setbacks as a learning experience,” he said.
