PORT DICKSON, 25 OCT – A man was remanded for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident involving a Year Five student who was crossing the road in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Port Dickson, here yesterday.
Port Dickson Police Chief, Supt. Maslan Udin said the accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a male student who was crossing the road at about 7:10am.
He said the incident happened when a 28-year-old male driver was traveling from Port Dickson town towards Teluk Kemang.
“Upon arriving at the scene, while the school student was crossing the road to school, the car driver failed to obey the red light and hit the student. As a result of the accident, the student suffered a fractured injury to his right big toe as well as injuries to his legs and hands,” he said in a statement here. – Named
