LOS ANGELES — Three months after “Boy Meets World” actress Trina McGee announced her surprise pregnancy, she has shared a tragic update.
McGee, who played Angela Moore on “Boy Meets World,” announced in an interview Monday on the “Tamron Hall Show” that she suffered a miscarriage.
The 55-year-old actress explained the unexpected loss occurred towards the end of her first trimester.
“I did lose the baby,” she revealed to Hall. “It wasn’t expected. It was closer to the end of the first trimester. We really don’t have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and at this time.”
In June, McGee posted on her Instagram asking fans for “prayers for a safe delivery.”
“At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant,” she said.
Trina is a mom to three adult children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Courtland Davis. She split from Courtland in 2001, and married Marcello Thedford in 2008.
“There are so many things that come when you really want a family and you want your family to be complete,” McGee told Hall on the show. “There are so many dreams that you have. It was hard to face the fact that that’s not going to happen at this point in the junction.”
Thedford also appeared on the show and said the loss was hard.
“You’re talking to a man that just a couple of months ago or so was holding her belly every night, talking to the baby,” he said.
McGee said she was not certain she wanted to have a child at her age, but ultimately was excited to raise a child with her current husband.
“The conclusion I came to is, we’ll just keep loving each other, if something happens that way, fine, but I don’t want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God,” she added.
