Established in 1995 and officially becoming the administrative capital in 1999, Putrajaya was carefully designed to reduce congestion in Kuala Lumpur.

Among its iconic structures are the Palace of Justice, the majestic Ministry of Finance and the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC) making Putrajaya a great photo stop.

A mosque that must be visited is the beautiful Putra Mosque with its characteristic pink dome.

Located on the banks of the calm Putrajaya Lake, it offers a beautiful view, especially at sunset with the sky colored orange and pink.

The mosque is a symbol of the unity of Malay and Middle Eastern architecture.

One of the most prominent landmarks in Putrajaya is the Seri Wawasan Bridge, a modern design inspired by the sails of a ship. Its shiny white structure reflects the city’s vision of progress and modernity.

Spanning 240 meters, the bridge connects the government center with residential and commercial areas.

At night, the bridge glows with sparkling LED lights, creating a spectacular sight reflected on the surface of the water.

A GREEN OASIS IN THE MODERN CITY

LAKESIDE CALM

In the middle of Putrajaya lies the vast Putrajaya Lake. The man-made lake surrounds the city, adding a calm atmosphere that completes the modern urban landscape. Its calm waters offer a sense of peace.

To appreciate the beauty of Putrajaya, there is no better option than taking a boat ride on the lake. Operated by Putrajaya Lake Cruise, the cruise allows visitors to admire the city’s stunning architecture.

During the 30 to 45 minute journey, passengers are treated to stunning views of Putrajaya’s iconic landmarks, including the pink dome of the Putra Mosque and the futuristic design of the Seri Wawasan Bridge.

During the journey, the writer was lucky enough to witness the sun setting below the horizon, the sky colored with gold reflecting on the surface of the lake which was the end of the voyage.

Although Putrajaya shines during the day, after sunset the city really changes.

As night falls, a lively light display brings the cityscape to life, with mosques, bridges and buildings reflecting their extraordinary beauty on the surface of the lake.

A walk by the lake at night or a quiet night cruise provides an amazing experience, almost like a dream. It is an experience that continues to be remembered even after your visit is over.
