CLEVELAND, Ohio — Down a run in the sixth inning, the Guardians had their fireman on the mound in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series, and a matchup that they liked with Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton coming to the plate.
Cade Smith, the Cleveland rookie reliever on a record-setting postseason ride, picked a bad time to have his worst outing of the playoffs, serving up a three-run home run to Stanton that turned the game with the series in the balance.
