LABUAN, SEPT 22 – Labuan-based Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB), a Sabah government-related company, achieved an important international milestone when it received its first international customer, Prime Energy Resources Development BV from the Philippines.
Speak to Named today, ASB Chief Executive Officer Japar Esteban said the contract aims to establish a supply base and provide related services for major energy projects in the Philippines.
The contract signed in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines last September 19 saw ASB assist Prime Energy’s drilling campaign for the Sinagtala Project, which plays an important role in extending the operating life of the Malampaya gas field.
Senior representatives of both companies attended the signing ceremony, which underscored the strategic importance of this international collaboration for the Philippines’ energy future.
The Malampaya field is the only deepwater gas-to-energy facility in the Philippines, which plays a vital role in the Philippines’ energy security.
Accordingly, Japar shared his pride in being involved in the Sinagtala Project, while informing that the move will strengthen ASB’s position in the international market.
“We are pleased to support the Sinagtala Project as part of our first international contract. ASB is committed to offering the necessary supply base services that will help extend the life of the Malampaya gas field as a key component of the Philippines’ energy infrastructure,” he said. – Named
