BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 18 – Champion barista Brunei, Awang Khairun Nasrullah bin Haji Ismail has left for Kuala Lumpur today to participate in the Championship Barista Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) 2024 which will take place from September 18 to 20 at the Grand Hyatt.
A total of 10 barista CBTL from eight countries will compete for the title of champion and take home a cash prize of US$2,000.
Championship Barista CBTL 2024 will see participation barista the best of CBTL franchises in eight countries including Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mongolia, Vietnam and Pakistan.
Representing the Brunei franchise, Awang Khairun Nasrullah has won the qualifying round in the Competition Barista Brunei 2024 held at MyTown Palace, Beribi recently with a special drink created by him, A Thyme to Celebrate.
Now, he will continue his career abroad to compete with barista other prominent.
The prizes offered at the championship include US$2,000 for the champion, US$1,500 for the second winner and US$1,000 for the third winner. In addition, the winner of the Best Specialty Drink also has the chance to win a cash prize worth US$1,500.
Awang Khairun Nasrullah when met said, “I was born and raised in Brunei.
“With eight years of experience working at CBTL since 2018 has given me a lot of experience and I hope to increase my experience to become barista leading in addition to producing the best coffee.
“Participating in the championship barista This is a great way to develop and showcase my interests and creativity barista CBTL,” he added.
