The women’s soccer team of FC Bayern Munich celebrated their second victory in the second Bundesliga game of the season. The defending champions beat RB Leipzig 6-2 (2-1) in an eventful match and remain at the top of the table for the time being.

Vanessa Fudalla gave the visiting team a surprise lead in the third minute. Linda Dallmann (44th) and Georgia Stanway (45th+4) turned the game around before half-time. Klara Bühl (55th/68th) with a brace and Lea Schüller (73rd) increased the lead further.

Bayern were not in danger even after Linda Sembrant was shown a yellow-red card (74th minute) and the second goal by Fudalla (75th minute/penalty). Instead, Schüller (89th minute) made it the final score with her second goal.

The Munich team had won their league opener 2-0 against newly promoted Turbine Potsdam, and Leipzig had also started with a win, beating 1. FC Köln 2-1. However, the Saxons had failed in the second round of the DFB Cup after losing 0-1 to 1. FC Union Berlin.
