The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 3:15 p.m. for Champaign County.
Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
“At 2:54 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near St. Paris, moving northeast at 35 mph,” states the weather service. “Expect damage to trees and power lines.”
