On Monday at 5:56 a.m. a beach hazards statement was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 2 p.m. for Ottawa, Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.
The weather service states to expect, “High risk of rip currents.”
“Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake,” comments the weather service. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
