Naby Keita, who was dropped by Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, may be about to move to Turkey. According to a media report, Turkish first division club Basaksehir is interested in signing the 29-year-old national player from Guinea, whose contract in Bremen runs until 2026. In Turkey, the transfer window is open until September 13th.

Werder no longer plans to use the midfielder, who came from Liverpool on a free transfer last year and is currently only keeping fit individually with the Green-Whites. Keita only played 107 minutes for the Bundesliga club last season. In April, he was suspended by the club until the end of the season because he refused to travel to the away game against Bayer Leverkusen as a substitute. A return to the Bundesliga squad was not up for discussion this summer.
