Bravo, Brett Goldstein!
The actor’s fans were thrilled to find out that he will star opposite Jennifer Lopez in “Office Romance.”
News of the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy broke Tuesday, with the Hollywood Reporter revealing that the “Ted Lasso” alum will write the movie’s script with Joe Kelly.
Social media users were quick to point out Goldstein’s longtime crush on Lopez, which he has frequently vocalized on his “Films to Be Buried With” podcast.
One fan posted a clip via X of Goldstein gushing over the actress’ appearance in “The Hustlers” in a July 2018 episode.
“F–king hell. 50!” the comedian exclaimed of Lopez’s age at the time. “She’s 50. I love her.”
He went on to express jealousy toward one of her female co-stars during a scene when Lopez wore a fur coat while hugging her.
“I’ve never wanted to be cuddled more,” Goldstein said. “That is one of the best cuddles. … give me one of your special cuddles.”
Another X user resurfaced an Instagram Story slide showing the Emmy winner thirsting over Lopez with heart-eyes and mindblown emojis.
“Never forget that Brett Goldstein loves @JLo,” the fan reminded others. “Said she was his crush and now starring in a romcom together. You go, manifesting king.”
Reddit users also celebrated him, with one writing, “I think she’s one of his favorites; I believe he’s mentioned more than once (on his podcast) that he thinks she’s the most beautiful woman in the world. He must be ecstatic!”
Another added, “Brett adores Jennifer Lopez so I’m happy he’s getting to act with his crush.”
An Instagram user warned their followers to “watch this space” since “he has a huge crush on her.”
Lopez, notably, is newly single as she filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck in August after two years of marriage — and months of split speculation.
As for Goldstein, his only public romance was with actress Beth Rylance in 2021.
