PARIS, 22 OCT – The economic domination of the BRICS countries has started to take shape and the West will not be able to do anything about it, reports Sputnik citing the leader of the Patriots party from France, Florian Philippot.
“During these two years, the GDP of BRICS has exceeded the GDP of the G7. The economic growth of the BRICS countries is twice as high as the growth rate of the G7,” the politician told RIA Novosti.
According to Philippot, the increasingly strong role of BRICS countries is observed in both economic and geopolitical aspects.
“We see that sanctions against Russia are not working. The dollar, although still dominant, continued to decline. In major global crises, the BRICS countries take the lead, trying to find a solution, as in the crisis in the Middle East, while Western countries reflexively bow to NATO,” he added.
The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24. BRICS is an intergovernmental association created in 2006. Russia takes over the BRICS presidency on January 1, 2024.
This year started with the addition of new members to the association in addition to Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Eduardo Paes Saboia, Secretary of Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil told Sputnik that a draft final declaration of the BRICS summit is being drawn up, and that its likely topics will include traditional issues of financial cooperation as well as new areas such as artificial intelligence. – Named
