Bridge work begins soon on K-61 in McPherson

MCPHERSON, Kan. (KSNW) — Work will begin soon on a bridge on Kansas Highway 61 in McPherson.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says crews will begin repair work on the bridge over the Kansas Highway 153 Spure route (over Old U.S. Highway 81) on Oct. 15. During the project, the on-ramp from the K-153 spur onto eastbound K-61 will be closed.

The bridge will be reduced to a single lane with reduced speeds through the work zone. Weather permitting, the project will take about a month to complete.

Bridges Inc., of Newton, is the primary contractor for the $290,000 project. For the latest on road projects underway across the state, visit KanDrive.gov.
