BROOK PARK, Ohio — Thanks to a payroll deduction grant program funded by Berea City School District, teaching staff and third graders at Brook Park Elementary School happily play the ukulele and learn about the instrument’s origins.
Brook Park Elementary was the 2024 grant recipient, enabling Gaby Westlake, the school’s music teacher, to purchase enough ukuleles to complete a class set.
