The Alliance Sarah Wagenknecht (BSW) has founded regional associations in North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony-Anhalt. The party of former Left Party politician Sahra Wagenknecht is thus further expanding its Germany-wide structures.

In Bochum, 84 voting members elected former Left Party politician Amid Rabieh and lawyer Jan Ristau to head the NRW association. In Magdeburg, student John Lucas Dittrich and administrative official Thomas Schulze were elected as state chairmen. Around 40 members were in attendance.

Co-Federal Party Chairwoman Amira Mohamed Ali again spoke in Magdeburg in favor of diplomatic efforts to end the War in Ukraine She criticised the German government for supplying weapons to other countries and called for a Limiting migration. “The numbers are too high,” says Mohamed Ali.

There was a lack of housing, language courses and places in schools. “We need reason and realism in politics, in all issues, and we must stop being attacked and defamed for addressing real problems.”

The BSW was founded at the beginning of the year and had a total of 650 members in July. According to its own statements, the party wants to grow slowly. There are already regional associations in Brandenburg, Saxony, Thuringia, Berlin and Saarland – Bremen and Lower Saxony are to follow. (dpa)
