EAST LANSING, Mich. — After the Ohio State Buckeyes’ easy win over the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday, 38-7, fans celebrated with a rendition of “Carmen Ohio” along with the players in the visitors’ end zone.
“Carmen Ohio” was written more than 100 years ago, and players have been singing it to the fans at the end of the game, win or lose, since 2001 in a tradition begun by former coach Jim Tressel.
The Buckeyes moved to 4-0 on the season and they head home for a game against the Iowa Hawkeyes in Columbus next Saturday.
