FC Heidenheim is being harsh on his team after their second consecutive defeat in the Bundesliga. “Sorry, we will never accept that we conceded seven goals and played like that in the second half,” said Schmidt after the 0:3 home defeat against SC Freiburg. All three SC goals came after the break and within eleven minutes.
Captain Patrick Mainka spoke of “a dent” and also said: “But we already have these six points, that is a basis on which we can build.” When asked about his defense chief’s analysis, Schmidt explained: “I know someone who removes the dents after hail damage. I might give him a call. But yes, I think it’s good that he says that. It is definitely a dent.”
