I borrow a lot of them,” she told the German Press Agency. Some of them also came from her own collection, which she released for the Oktoberfest with a traditional costume label.
She herself announced on Instagram that she would be wearing a pink dirndl from this collection for her Wiesn stroll, which she has established as a celebrity event at the Oktoberfest and which she plans to hold again this year. “Pink stands for self-confidence, femininity and strength. Pink is also my favorite color,” she said.

This year, other colors are actually in vogue, as Axel Munz, managing director of the dirndl chain Angermaier, says: “fashionable purple, light mint and sage, royal blue, deep red, fir green and even elegant black.”
And these are also often monotonous: “Monochrome looks that are characterized by a uniform color scheme for the dirndl dress, apron and blouse are also interesting,” says Munz. In 2024, dirndls will “all be above the knee.” In his view, no-gos are short mini dirndls, “flip flops or Birkenstock shoes with the dirndl, Carmen blouses. It’s also bad if the apron is longer than the dress.”
Among men, Munz sees above all “the short, hand-made leather trousers in deer and wild buck with elaborate embroidery, often in a vintage look,” as he says. “Strong colors are burgundy, bright blue or black combined with gold.” The fashion sins among men: “ill-fitting leather trousers, T-shirts under waistcoats, short-sleeved shirts.”
